The COVID-19 quarantine has been extended until May 12, 2020 in Russia. The Ministries of Foreign and Internal Affairs remain closed until at least this date. After May 12, it is planned to lift the restrictions gradually. No details are available at the moment regarding which institutions will be opened first.
The visa support by tourist invitations and by INN letters from the Russian companies remains available on your partner interface.

Dear Partners,
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia has decided that given the situation associated with the spread of a new coronavirus infection, from March 19, 2020, foreign citizens can extend the period of temporary stay in the Russian Federation without leaving the country and without facing any penalty.
To do this, they need to contact the territorial body of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia closest to the place of their actual residence with an application drawn up in any form.
For foreign citizens who arrived in Russia on the basis of a visa, the validity of the visa will be extended, regardless of the purpose of entry into Russia. If the visa has already expired, the temporary stay will also be extended.
For foreign citizens who reside in Russia on the basis of a temporary residence permit or residence permit, the stay will also be extended in case of expiration of the issued document.

The coronavirus outbreak has made the last few days very challenging and confusing for everyone. We know that many of you are adjusting to the current situation, and have worked with the authorities to sum up what we can currently offer to those who plan to travel to Russia in the near future.
After consulting the officials about the details of the temporary quarantine, we are happy to offer you the following services for the period until May 1, 2020:
- Tourist invitations, the same day as always, available online. Also available as special tourism invitations for visiting exhibitions, etc.
- Business invitations from the Russian companies on official letterhead. Processed the same day as always by our staff in Moscow.
- Business invitations from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, processed within 2-3 business days.

Dear Partners,
Effective March 18, 2020, the new measures in response to the COVID-19 outbreak come into force in the Russian Federation.
Government edict 635-R from March 16, 2020 temporarily limits entry into Russia by all foreign citizens and stateless persons. The FMS and the MFA stop processing invitations for entry to Russia. No invitations will be issued, even if an application had been submitted before March 18, 2020. The consulates of Russia abroad stop issuing visas and work permits to the foreign citizens for any purpose of visit.
The edict stresses that these measures are temporary, and will last at least until May 1, 2020.
The ban will not affect local citizens, diplomats, crew, transit passengers or foreign citizens with residency rights. Exceptions will also be made for those travelling following the death of a family member.

March 9, 2020 is an official holiday in Russia. The Federal Migration Service and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be closed. All requests for Russian business invitations and telexes received on March 6, Friday and March 9, Monday will be lodged on March 10, Tuesday.
The requests for tourist vouchers, Russian business letters from authorized companies will be processed the same day as usual by our team on duty. The due dates on our corporate interface are calculated accordingly, so please consult these for more information.
